Rev. Scot C. Moore is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Judah Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Mitchellville, Maryland. With his loving wife, Sharon, and sons Cameron and Dimitri by his side, Pastor Moore dedicates his life to spreading the Good News through his congregation, community, and worldwide ministries.
He is one of four boys raised by a single mother in Mount Vernon, NY where he graduated with honors in the top ten of his high school class. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Hofstra University. After getting married, Pastor Moore moved with his wife Sharon to Washington D.C. In 1994, he immersed himself in the ministry of the A.M.E. Zion Church. By 1995, he was ordained a Deacon by Bishop Milton Williams. After three years of dedicated service, Pastor Moore was ordained an elder on May 24, 1997.
In 1996, he founded the brand-new Judah Temple church. The first service at this house of worship was held in August 1996 with as many as 550 people in attendance. By the end of the year, 120 people became active members. Membership continued to grow until a new space was necessary. The church bought a 23-acre piece of land to build a campus known as the “Land of Judah.” By July 2004, the sanctuary was completed, and the first service was held here on March 12, 2006.
Pastor Moore serves as the International Director of the Men of Zion, which is The Men’s Ministry of the A.M.E. Zion Church. He also serves as the Presiding Elder of the churches in Barbados and St. Vincent.
Pastor Moore continues to impact lives in more than 50 ministries, workshops, and conferences. He travels and preaches extensively through North America, Europe, and South Africa. He has created and expanded a support network for men to learn to become better Christians, husbands, fathers, and workers. He has worked extensively with young adults in Christian ministries, led leadership training groups for Pastors, and founded a prison and praise ministry for rehabilitating felons.
