Survivor
Mr Jimmy Barnes is a prostate cancer survivor. He retired from UNC and is currently serving as Deacon at Union Baptist Church in Durham, NC. Mr. Barnes is a mentor for the younger Deacons as well as prospective pharmacy students. He serves on the board for UNC LOTH committee that helps recruit minority students and scholarships at UNC Chapel HIll. In addition, Mr. Barnes serves on the Board for the National Pharmaceutical Association that governs pharmacists and students.
