Session III: September 18, 2024
Progress Toward Making Prostate Cancer a Chronic Disease
Prostate cancer is increasingly being recognized as a chronic condition, like diabetes or heart disease, due to advancements in early detection, effective management strategies, and a deeper understanding of the disease’s progression. Many people now live with prostate cancer for over 15-20 years. Effective management is crucial, especially for advanced prostate cancer. While the disease may not be entirely eradicated, it can be controlled through combination or continuous treatments.
This session provides essential information for prostate cancer survivors and their caregivers, emphasizing the importance of managing the disease as a chronic condition.
