Prostate Cancer Patient Journeys –

Understanding Needs and Empowering Every Generation of Survivors

Prostate cancer is often regarded as a disease affecting men with a median age of 68 at diagnosis. However, 10% of new cases in the USA are diagnosed in men aged 55 or younger, and these tend to be more aggressive with lower survival rates. This session will feature stories from men of all ages who are not only surviving but also sharing their experiences to encourage other survivors, sons, and family members who are at the highest risk for prostate cancer. It will also highlight what is most important for patients across each age group to manage survivorship, based on testimonies and surveys from PHEN’s monthly survivorship management program. The session will conclude with special recognitions and PHEN’s annual in-memoriam service.
