Jsaela Barrow, MPH is a Morehead City, North Carolina native. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University and graduated Cum Laude in 2018, and received her Master of Public Health degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Ms. Barrow serves as a mentor and a tutor for college and high school students.
Urologic Oncologist
Dr. Adrien Bernstein is a urologic oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical management of prostate, bladder, kidney, testicle and penile cancers. She has extensive training in both minimally invasive (robotic) and traditional (open) surgery, tailoring her approach to meet the needs of each individual patient.
Dr. Bernstein is also actively involved in research, with a special interest in equity of quality care for minority populations and the unique needs of elderly patients. She is an active member of the American Urologic Association and contributes to the core curriculum. She has also completing a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Health Services Research at Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Bernstein brings a compassionate yet evidence-based approach to patient care and is passionate about guiding each patient from diagnosis through their individualized treatment plan.
PHEN, Savannah, GA
Deacon Raymond (Ray) Fuller, Jr. is a fourteen-year prostate cancer survivor who has been active in raising awareness about the disease and supporting patient education and support efforts with the Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN) since he was diagnosed in 2008. As a deacon in the Morningstar Baptist Church, which is one of the largest Black churches in Boston, MA, Ray led his church to become active in PHEN’s Annual Father’s Day Rally and hosting educational symposiums.
Ray was a leader for PHEN’s support group which met monthly at the Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute in Boston where he coordinated the monthly Man-to-Man sessions. In these sessions men shared their stories so others could learn from their experiences. Ray’s experience as a deacon enabled him to blend medical discussions with the emotional and spiritual support that many of the prostate cancer survivors needed.
Ray was also involved in PHEN’s Annual African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summits that were hosted in Washington, DC from 2005 through 2019 prior to COVID, at the U.S. Capitol and Washington Convention Center as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative
Conference. As an accomplished soloist, Ray was called upon to close out some of the summit sessions with song which became highlights for the audiences.
Raymond Fuller, Jr. is a native of Savannah, Georgia. In returning home, he is continuing his prostate cancer community advocacy work as PHEN’s lead ambassador. He plans to work with community leaders, church leaders and other survivors to establish an active support group and raise prostate cancer awareness and education utilizing PHEN’s resources in efforts to save lives.
