Dr. Angelo D. Moore is the Program Manager, Duke Cancer Institute Office of Health Equity, where he provides overall direction, coordination, and implementation DCI’s community impact-designed projects to reduce cancer outcomes disparities in the DCI community and across its Catchment Area.  The Office of Health Equity mission is to reduce cancer disparities and improve population health in their catchment area for historically marginalized and medically underserved populations such as the African American, LatinX, Asian American, Native American, Jewish, Muslim, LGBTQ+, refugee, and rural communities.

He received his BSN in 1995 from Winston-Salem State University, MSN in 2002 from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and PhD in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served 25 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He has over 25 years of nursing experience in Medical-Surgical, Critical Care, and Primary Care Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  He has held multiple leadership positions including Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, Commander, as well as multiple Executive Leadership positions such as Deputy Chief & Chief for the Centers for Nursing Science & Clinical Inquiry, and Chief Nurse of Education for the Fayetteville VA Medical Center which also included 8 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics throughout Southeastern North Carolina. He is a board-certified Nurse Executive.

Dr. Moore is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing.  He enjoys mentoring and teaching.  He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented podium presentations at local, regional, national, and international conferences.  He is a member of several professional organizations, serves on several local, regional, and national committees, and takes special interest in encouraging higher education and increasing and retaining the number of health professions students from historically marginalized populations. 

Dr. Moore was awarded the 2002 Distinguished Clinical Performance Award at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, 2004 Outstanding Military RN at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, 2012 National Black Nurses Association Nurse Researcher of the Year, the 2012 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing Graduate of the Last Decade Alumni Awardee,  a 2013 Winston-Salem State University Alumni Achiever Awardee, and inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit in 2015.  In 2019, the Uniformed Services University blog “Pulse” featured him in their “Black History Month Profiles: 20 Inspiring Uniformed Services University Alumni.”

Garret Davis is the head of G. Davis Productions which started off as Rhema Theatre Group Ministries in Raeford, NC when Garett penned his first stage production entitled “Lord Why Me”. After his first national tour and the success of “If Loving You is Wrong” that featured Freddie Jackson, the name was changed to G. Davis Productions and the slogan was established “Bringing Real Life Situation to the Stage.”

The relationships that G. Davis Productions has established over the years with the National Alzheimer’s Association, US Against Alzheimer’s, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, The Maya Angelou Center on Health Equity, The American Diabetes Association and AARP has created a unique partnership that focuses on raising the awareness of various diseases and care given through award winning projects and theatrical productions.

Jerry M. George attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston MA; where he received a Masters of Public Health and an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree. Through his volunteering and community service work, Mr. George attained a strong background in environmental health as well as health and wellness education and advocacy. He also has strong interests in both clinical research and health policy. Mr. George began an internship with the Prostate Health Education Network in January 2017 and now serves as the Program Coordinator working to bring prostate cancer education and advocacy to the African American Community.

Dr. Dwight C. Jones serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of South Richmond, where he will celebrate in November, 47 years of service.  An active public servant, residing in the City of Richmond, Virginia, he has made significant strides and accomplishments in the church, immediate community, the city of Richmond and state of Virginia. Dr. Jones is a prolific orator and visionary leader.  For twenty-five years, he served as Senior Pastor of both First Baptist Church of South Richmond and the St. James Baptist Church in Varina.

While Dr. Jones’ endowment for preaching and teaching has taken him across the country as a guest preacher and lecturer, he has also entrenched himself in the religious, social and political

realms of the City of Richmond. Standing as an ever-present force in working for causes that positively affirm his heritage and beliefs, Dr. Jones’ efforts have impacted the City of Richmond and also the state at large. A diligent advocate of economic empowerment for those who are not in the mainstream, Dr. Jones has been instrumental in effecting change through his various board appointments and other community investments.

Dr. Jones founded the South Richmond Senior Center, the First Baptist Church Child Care Center and the Imani Intergenerational Community Development Corporation—a community-based development corporation committed to the building of affordable housing, revitalization of distressed business areas and business development, as well as workforce initiatives and training. Under Dr. Jones’ leadership, Imani CDC developed a full block of property in the Blackwell community of the City of Richmond, 68 apartments and 23,000 square feet of retail space which has served as a catalyst to bringing businesses back Hull Street.

Dr. Jones was appointed to the Richmond City School Board in 1979 and served as its chairman from 1982-1985. He served in the Virginia State Legislature from 1994-2008, as an honorable member of the House of Delegates serving the 70th district.  During his tenure in the House of Delegates, he served as Chair of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus. 

In 2007, Dr. Jones felt called to serve as Mayor of the City of Richmond and was elected the 79th Mayor of the city of Richmond in November 2008, the second Mayor at Large for Richmond.  Dr. Jones was re-elected in in November 2012.  He focused on “Building a Better Richmond” and successfully led Richmond in laying a strong foundation for a well-managed government, economic growth, building a strong transportation system, creating a sustainable and natural environment and most importantly attacking the city’s 26% poverty rate.

As Mayor, Dr. Jones was dedicated to the cause of making Richmond the premier city in Virginia. During his first term, more than 700 jobs were created, and the city experienced an increase in capital investment of more 981 million dollars. Under his leadership four new schools were built in the Richmond Public School Systems. 

Dr. Jones placed Richmond in the history books with the UCI World Cycling Championship which was held in September 2015.  More than 300 million viewers around the world watched as cyclist raced through the streets of Richmond.  Hence, Richmond is known worldwide!

Dr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Union University. He went on to receive a Master’s of Divinity from Virginia Union University and a Doctorate from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. He has three children: Brent, Derik and Nichole and five grandchildren, Bryce, Mandel, Miles, Raegan and Derik II.

Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller is the Senior Pastor of the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A highly sought-after revivalist, vocalist, and lecturer, Dr. Waller is a true visionary of the church and the community who serves humanity far beyond the restraints of traditionalism. His partner in marriage and ministry is Dr. Ellyn Jo Waller, the leader of Enon’s Women’s Ministry and a devoted mother to their two daughters, Elynn Morgan and Eryka Lynn.

Since 1994, God’s anointing on Dr. Waller’s pastorate at Enon has been evidenced with unprecedented spiritual and numerical growth. In July 2006, Enon became “one church in two locations” with the development of a new church campus,

which includes a 5000-seat sanctuary, a chapel, a computer lab, classrooms, a Family Life Center (for banquets, a summer sports camp and ministry events), and a “big backyard” for the youth ministry to participate in competitive team sports. To serve a congregation of over 15,000 members, Enon holds three weekend worship services (with internet live-streaming), multiple prayer opportunities, and three weekly Bible studies at Enon and Center City Philadelphia. Dr. Waller draws on his love for people to shape God’s vision for Enon, “A Place Where People Encounter God,” through over 75 innovative ministries. Enon regularly hosts various community awareness events and health and wellness initiatives that offer AIDS testing and other critical health screenings.
