Session II:
September 16, 2026 | 1:00 – 3:30 PM EST
Meeting the Community Mobilization Challenge
About the Session
Moderated by Adrian Backus, JD, MDiv
Eliminating prostate cancer disparities requires more than medical breakthroughs—it requires reaching Black men where they live, work, worship, learn, and gather. Over the years, PHEN and its partners have demonstrated the power of community-based engagement through churches, fraternities, community organizations, healthcare systems, and innovative public-private partnerships. Yet significant challenges remain in increasing awareness, expanding screening access, and connecting Black men to quality care.
This session will examine successful community mobilization models, highlight innovative partnerships, and challenge stakeholders across sectors to work together to create a national movement for Black men’s health.
